Jon Schmidt

Okay so I'm gonna introduce you to one of my favorite Piano Artists....... JON SCHMIDT.

He writes fun upbeat music as well as calmer stuff. They are SO MUCH fun to listen and play to. :D I was hooked the first time I heard one of his songs. I think you will be to.. He had a bunch of fun music videos of him playing his combos (taking songs and combining them to original pieces) and other compositions.

Here are some of his great songs:

Micheal Meets Mozart

To the Summit

Love Story Meets Viva La Vida

Waterfall

Game Day

Dumb Song

There are so many more! Comment what you think!

The Princess Adelina

The Princess Adelina: An Ancient Christian Tale of Beauty and BraveryThe Princess Adelina: An Ancient Christian Tale of Beauty and Bravery by Julie Sutter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis: Departing from the isle of Iona thirteen centuries ago, Scottish and Irish missionary bands left to bring the light of the Gospel to foreign lands. The daughter of one such Ionan missionary couple, Adelina of the German Culdee Church is a virtuous woman living a simple life, when trials suddenly come upon her. Taken as queen to the pagan ruler Hedan of Thuringia, he promises to allow Christians to worship and evangelize freely; but his mother will stop at nothing to stamp out the fledgling German church. Based on a true story, this tale recounts the courage of Adelina as she overcomes persecution, slander, exile and the impending destruction of her people…and is used by God in all things!

Genres: Historical Fiction

Review
: This book was an interesting read. It is not the easy skim-through-it-fast book. The writing is way different and challenging. If you want to read it you probably would have to buy it. But I pretty much liked the book. It was an interesting sotry and a good change from my normal readings. Adelina really had a good spirit of following God's will and trusting him about her. I would say It could be a classic. A good Christian tale for teenage girls.

The Scarlet Pimpernel - My review

The Scarlet PimpernelThe Scarlet Pimpernel by Emmuska Orczy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A mysterious and daring Englishman who rescues royals and nobility from being Killed by Madame Guillotine. He is only known as the Scarlet Pimpernel.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!! OH AN EPIC READ. I really like Margarete's POV. I had seen the movie before hand so I know the story but this was better and I still was on the edge of my seat....not literally. It's full of page-turning suspense, romance, humor, adventures, and MORE. It's bursting with flavor and spice. (Don't ask about the sudden cooking reference)

A tale EVERYONE is sure to enjoy.

Oh the Irony!

Some of you may recall my post entitled "A Comment For Your Thoughts." Sadly it never had the desired results. But that is not the object of this post (to reprimand you for not commenting). Instead I am going to share some irony which is linked to this post.

In the comment for your thoughts post I laid before you some random tidbits of strange things I was thinking of. One of them was: When posting and you drift off, Dots are often used(..........................) though they aren't really necessary. I mean people don't even read them they just skip to the stuff. It's a waste of time.

If you will look at the post below this one: "Help.............Suggestions........HELP!" you will see the great irony. The irony is I say that dots are a waste of time...and yet here I am using them like 6 times in a post.....

WOW. I didn't know I had it in me.

Help...............Suggestions................HELP!

So it's not so urgent as this post title suggests....................but I do want help. :D

Okay so I am gonna start a book blog for my book reviews and ratings. I know there are a ton of them out there...................but it's not ME. You get what I mean........(hopefully). So................If you have any cool or awesome titles that would make a awesome blog titles...............PLEASE SHARE! I've got a few but ideas would help.

Thanks guys. YOU ROCK!

Reblogging

So I got caught with this............

..................Again. So here I am. :D

I guess I need something to say so I'll talk about what I'm reading. For my home school book club I'm reading 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' by Baroness Orczy. IT IS SOOOO GOOD. :D

LOVE IT!

My two Cents on the Scout Fundraiser....................

Okay so my mom already did a post on THIS. But I feel like I should put in my two cents. :D

So basically the Spaghetti Dinner is the annual Stake Scout Fundraiser. Usually the Young Women join with the scouts so that they can earn money for Girls Camp. But this year the Young Women did not get included. We have some fundraiser later....that is unknown. :D Anyway. But this year Adam participated for the first time. So did Kyle.

Okay, really quick detour. Kyle Chung is in our ward. His mom went to China for 3 weeks, so he is staying with us. His school is just down the street so he walks there and is gone during the day. He is a couple months older than Adam...

Back to the Spaghetti dinner. So it's a dinner. Where they serve Spaghetti (in case you didn't pick that up earlier). I don't really like Spaghetti a ton, and this kind wasn't the best. There are also Cake Auctions. Some are silent (paper bidding). The other is live. That one is usually the best of all the cakes. Anyway, you always wanna make it up to the stage for the Live one. (they go for the highest price) :D So below are the cakes that Adam and Kyle made.

Spaghetti cake that Kyle made.
Looks pretty real, don't it?

The Checkers Cake that Adam made.
Those Fruit Roll-ups call to me :)

They both made it up to the stage. Of course, there weren't as many cakes this year since the YW didn't participate. But still good. IT was quite a fun evening.

There were also some pretty awesome cakes. Here are some of the coolest...and weirdest(all these were up on the Live Auction).

~Angry Birds Cake
~Slug Circus(my friend's brother made this)
~Book of Mormon(there was a little war between the Stake Pres. and the missionaries on this one. Pres. Hodgeman got it. :D)
~Kitty Litter(It did indeed look like a tray of kitty litter that hadn't been cleaned out yet. It looked SO GROSS, but it smelled good)

So...that is the Cake Auction. :D I hope you enjoyed my narration!
