Wandering One

For some, time passes swiftly. It moves like a fast-paced river, never ceasing, never ending.

But for me time stands still. It barely moves. It is like a hard tree, digging in roots, staying in one spot while things change around it.

For they are the Travellers and I am a Wandering One. They are the River and I am a Tree.

But I am growing restless.

I do not know why I feel what I do, but I know that I must take action. For the world calls to me. I can not remain.

And so I go.

What I will find I will find. What I see I will see. And whatever happens to me, let it be said that I followed the call of the wild and set my spirit free.

I am no more a Wandering One.

I am a Traveller.

Goovy Dancing

Soo...remember the usual skits that Emily and I do for camp every year? Well we just planned out next one and it's taking a new turn. We're preforming the Napoleon Dynamite Dance! I think we'll rock it. Time for some funky grooving!

I will be sure to post the performance vid. :D lol

You Can't Take it With You

So I watched this movie last night with my family at a recommendation from my Economics course. This is a great movie. Definitely worth watching. A Good Old, Charming Classic. Jimmie Stewart and Jean Arthur star as "society-crossed lovers". Jean plays Alice who comes from a quite care-free and eccentric family. When she falls in love with Tony Kirby, son of the high and wealthy Anthony P. Kirby a very well-t0-do banker, his parents disapprove of the match. So she sets out to get their blessing and nothing goes as planned. A brilliant blend of humor, fun and politics. I think that kids 8+ would get the humor mostly, but a very family friendly film. Highly recommended. :D Plus a great message. :D I loved it. :D

Book GIveaway

I follow through Google Reader, a bunch of Book Review Blogs, and Author blogs.
One of my favorites is I Am A Reader Not A Writer. It is done by a fellow LDS lady who reads, reviews, has giveaways, participates in Book Hops author guest posts, author interviews and so forth. Lots of fab bookness. :D

She is currently participating in Young Adult Faeries & Fantasy Giveaway/Book Hop and I know that a bunch of my friends who follow this blog are big readers so I would pass along the word. Not to mention that an added entry in her giveaway is sharing this Hop.

I do really recommend following book blogs. I'll share a few in a later post, but they are great help for determining content, and also getting to know a wide variety of books that are available out there.

Just passing along the bookness. Have a great weekend!

Love Hannah

No Hope for Recovery....ever

I absolutly adore this quote. It's so me.

Pinned Image

I read way to much. Sometimes I even let it get in the way of school work. Of course, I'm working on that. Last year I joined a challenge with Goodreads, and set my goal of 100 books that I would finish in 2011. I fell short by 3 books, having read 97 (chapter books over 150 (but usually 200 or more) pages). Mainly due to my increasing crazy schedule around Christmas

This year I joined the challenge again, raising the bar to 125. But I'm also trying to leave my books alone till my school for the day is finished. So what can I say? Books have addled my brain. I just keep reading and reading...

Books are just to great. I've read some amazing ones this year. Some that have told amazingly true stories, books older than my grandparents, books that have made me cry, and just some incredibly well written action-packed rides. I can't wait to see what I'll discover this year.

Ps. I'm 1 book ahead. :D

2 years & Counting

Happy Birthday to my Blog!

Today It's official. I've been blogging for 2 years. My blog is still a little baby, but I'm definitely not. :D

Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Ah...Christmas (mumbo-jumbo thoughts)

Well it's almost the new year, but first comes Christmas. Boy am I not ready. WHAT HAPPENED TO 2011! We're just 2 weeks away from 2012!

This whole fall has been crazy so I've been shirking my blog. Which I miss. I miss blogging. I dream all the time about the cool blogs I could do. Most of them are book related since I follow so many author and book blogs. :D I do have a book blog. But it would take a lot of work to shape up.
So sorry for shirking. My goal for 2012 is to post at least every week.

But back to Christmas.

What do you love about the Holiday? For me it's lots of smells, sights and sounds. Not to mention the family traditions and fun that comes with celebrating the birth of Christ.

A short update and them I'm off to hit the hay. :D

With our Homeschool Group (Scholars of Light/SOL) we have a choir. This is for the older kids who can sit through long practices and learn longer and harder songs. (Jamie is the youngest member @ 8yr.) It's been a lot of fun to learn awesome songs.

This season we thought it would be fun to have some of us piano playing youth accompany the choir on the things we learned. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. We've already had once performance and that went great. I think mom will be videotaping the performance tomorrow so maybe I'll get access to that.

I'm playing Christmas Bell Carol (also known as Carol of the Bells) and a Natalie Sleeth song (we do a lot of her) called Were You There. It's a lot of fun.

Well I'm tired and I have a book waiting. What's better, Books, Beds or Both?

I'll go with Both.

Till next time. Feliz Navidad!

Cello Wars

Some of you may know that I really like Jon Schmidt and his music. Well his accompaniest Cello guy, Steven Sharp Nelson is FAB on the cello. He's done a bunch of multiple cello piece arrangements and done music videos for them. He uses special kinds of cellos and oh wow it's so good. Well his latest will delight many. It's called Cello Wars, and as the name says, it's a Star Wars Parody. Enjoy!

Sizzling Newbie

http://www2.richardpaulevans.com/hello-world

I'm currently reading a book called "Micheal Vey: the Prisoner of Cell 25." the interesting thing is that the author is Richard Paul Evans. You may have heard of some of his novels such as The Christmas Box, The Christmas List. The Walk, or another of his touching life stories. Well this is her first Sci-Fi that will join the shelves with his heart-breaking stories. He's in the same genre as Nicholas Sparks.

I'm personally liking Micheal Vey very much. Normally I'm not a sci-fi person, but this is quite good. I'm not half-way through it yet, but I can tell that I will really enjoy it. I would definitely recommend it to teenagers and even adults would probably enjoy it.

So look for Micheal Vey, it's a fresh, sizzling adventure.

An author's thoughts on Nanowrimo

3 days till Nanowrimo. My plot is catching up with me. I'm still not fully planned. This will defiantly be an adventure.

Today I read an interesting post by an author. It's by J. Scott Savage. I read one of his books and thought it was pretty good. when that happens, and if I like the author, I will follow their blog. In this case Savage happens to be LDS, so I also like to follow him, due to his great writing comments and clean background.

Back to my original point in posting this. His most recent post was called "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly of Nanowrimo". Starting Tuesday I'm gonna brave Nano and write 50K words in November. So naturally as the National Novel Writing Month is coming to a start many people are writing about it.

Savage talked about the reasons why it could be good and why Nano is also not the best.
His main point is taking different kinds of people and authors and putting them in the Nano position. Some people can't force a novel (Or 50 K) in a month. Some can. Some can just sit and write 2,000 words per day for a month and finish quickly. So depending on who you are, Nanowrimo can be either, very great, or very bad and ruining of your writing. Because as Savage says, "Quantity does not always equal quality". So true.

I found the post very interesting, if you are thinking about doing Nano I would suggest you read it. Or if you are even a writer.
